What Jungfraujoch costs with each pass

Prices last checked: · Prices from Jungfrau Railways' price calculator, valid until 12 Dec 2026

Short answer: a summer return from Interlaken Ost costs CHF 271.20 with no card, CHF 140.60 with the Swiss Half Fare Card and CHF 189.60 with the Swiss Travel Pass, all including the compulsory CHF 10 seat reservation. No pass makes Jungfraujoch free. The Half Fare Card gives the biggest discount here: 50% on the whole route. The Swiss Travel Pass only covers the valley train and takes about a quarter off the mountain section.

Maintenance closures announced by Jungfrau Railways for autumn 2026: the Eiger Express gondola from 9 to 20 November 2026, and the Lauterbrunnen–Mürren line from 26 October to 6 November 2026. Check the operator's operating information before you travel in these weeks.

Why the Swiss Travel Pass discount looks small here

With the Swiss Travel Pass, the trains from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren are free. From there to the top you get a discount, not free travel. Compare the Grindelwald Terminal prices in the table. Leave out the CHF 10 reservation, and CHF 239.20 becomes CHF 179.60 with the pass. That is about 25% off, our own calculation. The pass is often advertised with "up to 50%" off mountain excursions, but Jungfraujoch is not one of the 50% cases.

The Half Fare Card is valid on the entire Jungfrau Railways network, so the whole return ticket, Interlaken Ost to the top and back, costs half (the CHF 10 reservation is not discounted).

If you use a Swiss Travel Pass Flex, the day must be activated. Without an activated day you get neither the free valley train nor the discount.

The Jungfrau Travel Pass does not include Jungfraujoch itself. You add a connecting ticket for the Eigergletscher–Jungfraujoch section: CHF 89 from 1 May to 31 October 2026 (including the paid seat reservation), and CHF 63 outside that period. Children under 16 who hold a Jungfrau Travel Pass get the connecting ticket free. Family discounts such as the Swiss Family Card do not combine with the Jungfrau Travel Pass; children need their own CHF 30 pass.

Children

Children up to 5 travel free. Children aged 6 to 15 travel free with a Junior Card or Children's Travelpass, otherwise they pay CHF 20. From 1 May to 31 October they also need the CHF 10 seat reservation. Visiting families with the free Swiss Family Card: see the operator's FAQ for how it applies to Jungfraujoch, since the Jungfrau Travel Pass rules above differ.
