Germany train ticket calculator

Prices last checked: · Adult, 2nd class · One traveller

Add your long-distance trains, your regional day trips and the days you will use city transport. The calculator prices the trip eight ways: saver tickets, Flexpreis tickets, a trial BahnCard 25 or 50, the Deutschland-Ticket on its own or with a trial BahnCard 25, and the German Rail Pass.

1. Your trip

You can buy it online before you arrive. If you buy it after the 10th, the earliest end date is the end of the following month, so you pay for two months.

2. ICE, IC and EC journeys

Day 1 is your first day. Pick one of our sampled fares or choose "My own fares" and type the saver price (Super Sparpreis or Sparpreis) and the Flexpreis that DB shows for your train.

3. Regional trains (RE, RB, S-Bahn)

A single ticket gets the BahnCard discount. A day ticket such as the Bayern-Ticket does not. The Deutschland-Ticket covers both, and the German Rail Pass covers DB-run regional trains.

4. City transport

Days on which you would otherwise buy a city day ticket. Only the Deutschland-Ticket covers U-Bahn, trams and buses.
